NORTHBROOK, Illinois, November 9, 2021— Defined today announced that as it continues to build on its momentum as the leading provider of K-12 project-based learning (PBL) resources, John Larmer has joined the company's leadership team as Senior PBL Advisor. Larmer brings with him 20 years of deep expertise in driving student achievement through PBL that will help propel Defined into the future.
Prior to Defined, John helped build PBLWorks/Buck Institute for Education (BIE) where he served as editor in chief, director of publications, and director of product development. He co-developed the model for Gold Standard PBL that is the foundation of PBLWorks’ products and services. At PBLWorks, he wrote widely used rubrics for 21st-century success skills, and problem-based curriculum units for high school government and economics. John also contributed to PBLWorks’s research and professional development programs including the flagship PBL 101 workshop. John has also written numerous blog posts and is the author of several articles and books on PBL for K-12 teachers, school leaders, and parents.
